This is a multi-level kindness project, and no art skills are required. Simply paint a rock, add a kind or uplifting message and give it to someone else. Hide it around town, give it to someone you know, put it on a friend’s porch or keep it for yourself.
Kindness Art Kits During Pandemic
My city shut down in late March of 2020 due to the Coronavirus, just as we were gearing up to launch our new art studio on April 3rd. To counter the negative effects of the virus and nonstop rollercoaster shutdowns at a time when smiles were in shortage, I began handing out free kindness art kits from my front lawn. I dropped some off with essential workers at the grocery stores, the police station, fire departments, gas stations and the local hospital. Always along my path I found appreciative people who were happy to receive a simple kindness. While we are a for-profit business, I strongly believe in community service and lifting each other up when times are tough. The act of doing art is one of the easiest ways to lift your spirits. I can tell you first hand, the act of giving these kits to others during a difficult time helped boost my spirits, and I hope you will enjoy them as much as I enjoyed creating them. I love hearing your stories, please feel free to share with me!
